Funny Games (rewatch, 2008, Michael Haneke, 35mm) - 11
See here.
Cannibal Ferox (1981, Umberto Lenzi, dvd) - 8
Lorraine De Selle goes into the jungle to prove that cannibalism doesn't exist, but she fails cuz it hella does. John Morghen gives a pretty awesome performance, and there's some great gore.
Leprechaun (rewatch, 1993, Mark Jones, 35mm) - 9.5
A leprechaun who wants his gold back terrorizes Jennifer Aniston and some other people, and it's amazing and adorable. I think I still prefer Leprechaun 3, but the scene in Leprechaun where they're throwing shoes at him is one of the greatest ever from any movie.
Freddy Got Fingered (rewatch, 2001, Tom Green, dvd) - 8
It's kind of a challenging movie, in that it's often fairly irritating, but it also does a lot that's really admirable. There are bad and painful jokes, but then when the jokes do work, they're hilarious. Rip Torn is amazingly commited to his role as Tom Green's father, in that he's similarly amusing though sometimes obnoxious. The only consistently entertaining person in it is Anthony Michael Hall. I got really wrapped up in the story, but that's kinda true for most comedies.
The Abandoned (2007, Nacho Cerda, dvd) - 7
A woman goes back to a house in Russia where she was born, and meets her twin brother, and then they are being haunted by themselves, and they have to relive their father being crazy and trying to kill them when they were babies. I didn't really follow what the fuck was going on by the end of it, but there was some pretty inventive stuff, and I still liked it.
