Popcorn Dangerous Episode 1: Christmas

Here's the first episode of Popcorn Dangerous in 9 parts. It's 82 fucking minutes long, and that's with like 20 minutes cut out. While editing it, I started to get kind of bored with it and wonder why anyone would bother to watch because all we're doing is talking about movies, but hopefully, it's entertaining somehow. Some things I've learned about myself are that I use a whole lot of extraneous words like "um" and "like" constantly, and am basically about as far from being eloquent as possible, and that Omar and I are both a lot nerdier than I had realized, but that one's not such a bad thing. Also, our theater lobby is freezing fucking cold, and so I was shivering a lot and really uncomfortable, and I'm pretty sure it shows. Also, I use the word "Christmas-y" about a billion times, which as it turns out, is not a real word, nor does it sound like one when I repeatedly use it. And also, somehow rape gets brought up like 4 times. We'll get better, though, I think.

Anyway, editing it was a pain in the cunt, and I had all these retarded fucking issues with Final Cut Pro. We shot in widescreen which was obviously necessary, and also just easier because that's how cameras shoot shit these days, but I couldn't get FCP to export without the video being letterboxed, meaning it would save with the black bars on the top and bottom as part of the image. Since youtube has gone widescreen now, this would have resulted in a huge black border on every side. I finally figured out how to fix it, and it involved individually changing a setting on every single clip on the timeline. But then, even after sorting all that out, I uploaded it to youtube, and they fucking squished it anyway! I eventually figured out how to fix this, too, but not until I had already uploaded the first 6 videos, and it wasn't worth replacing them. So only 7-9 look the way they're supposed to.

If you want the strictly audio version, you can download that here (it's 74MB). But you might not be able to make out much of what we're saying. I added in some background Christmas music throughout the whole episode to make it seem more exciting, but when I ripped the audio, the music didn't seem to be quite as much in the background as it's supposed to be. Since we don't have any, like, microphones, the sound isn't quite perfect on the video version either, but it's slightly better at least. If you do decide to only listen to us and not have to also stare at us, you should still watch the short film at the beginning of Part 1, and possibly the outtakes at the end of Part 9. There's some extra footage of me throwing myself into a table and some chairs, which resulted in a couple days worth of pain in my inner thigh, as well as some cut dialogue that, coincidentally, also relates to thigh pain.
